Neil Diamond is returning to the fabulous Greek Theatre to celebrate the 40th anniversary of “Hot August Night”, his best selling live album that was recorded over a series of performances at the Greek in August 1971 and 1972. After its release, the album was #1 on the charts for 29 weeks and is one of the biggest selling live albums of all time,

American actress and singer Liza Minelli is the daughter of one of the most famous American movie actresses ever - Judy Garland and well known film director Vincente Minelli and has also been in the entertainment business for over 50 years. Liza began singing at an early age and first appeared in the Off Broadway show “Best Foot Forward”, when she was just 16 years old. In 1965, she became the youngest woman ever to win a leading actress Tony Award for “Flora the Red Menace” on Broadway. A few years later, she lost her mother in what is believed to be an accidental death.

Even though she is a huge star as a nightclub singer and a stage actress, Liza Minelli may be best known for his Oscar- winning performance of the movie version of the popular Broadway musical “Cabaret” in 1972, which won a total of eight Academy Awards, including Best Director for Bob Fosse and Best Supporter Actor for Joel Grey.

Over the years, Ms. Minelli has won four Tony Awards, an Emmy Award, two Golden Globes, a Grammy Legend Award and her Oscar. In addition to 21 albums and 21 singles, she has appeared in over 30 movies, 22 Broadway musicals and numerous television specials.

Because she hasn't been making many live concert performances in the past few years, her performance at the Hollywood Bowl gives her fans a rare opportunity to listen to some of her classic standards, in addition to her upcoming new CD “Confessions”, scheduled to be released September 21st.

As with most every concert venue in Los Angeles, traffic to both the Greek Theatre and the Hollywood Bowl is expected to be busy as usual on a Saturday night.
