It’s not just any holiday event coming up, it’s the celebration of the birth of America, and Los Angeles is definitely one of the most fun places to gather in the spirit of togetherness and all-round festivities. There are plenty of events to suit all tastes and ages, so it really is all up to you. For those looking to host their own party, do be aware that setting off fireworks in most areas and beaches in L.A. County is considered illegal. Block Party @ Grand Park

With eight blocks of partying available at the Grand Park Event Lawn, you’re bound to have tons of fun with friends and family.

 

Things to Look Forward to:

  • Tons of music performances on two stages (3 p.m. to 9 p.m.)
  • Rooftop fireworks show (starts at 9 p.m.)

AmericaFest @ Rose Bowl Stadium

This 92nd annual LA tradition is definitely one to look forward to, and also features one of the largest fireworks displays in Southern California!

 

Things to Look Forward to:

  • Music performances (starts at 7 p.m.)
  • The Family Fun Zone that includes games, activities and contest for kids of all ages (starts at 2 p.m.)
  • Fireworks show (starts at 9 p.m.)

Note: Tickets are required for entry, but you can also buy them in person at the Box Office (cash only). There will also be a Michael Jackson Tribute sing-a-long by Maddie Poppe (an American Idol winner).

Home Games @ Dodger Stadium

You’re not going to be watching a parade here, but for an American pastime that’s bound to liven up your 4th of July, you’ll best head on over the the Dodgers stadium to join in the excitement of watching live home games.

 

Things to Look Forward to:

  • Home games against the Pittsburgh Pirates (starts at 6:10 p.m.)
  • Fireworks show (starts around 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., depending on the game)

Note: Tickets are required for entry, and they can be purchased online. You can also arrive early to tailgate in the parking lot.

If drinking is one of your highest priorities this coming 4th of July, you’ll want to be a part of Santa Monica’s epic pub crawl that starts from 3rd July to 4th July.

The community of Pacific Palisades have been hosting an annual 4th of July parade since 1948, and it’s guaranteed to be jam-packed this time round too, especially with the concert and fireworks display later in the evening.

  • Americanism Parade (starts at 2 p.m.)
  • Skydiving viewing (starts at 1:50 p.m.)
  • Concert (starts at 4 p.m.)
  • Fireworks show (starts at 9 p.m.)
  • Palisades Will Rogers 5 and 10K Run (starts at 8:15 a.m.)
  • Lots of fun and games
