LA Zoo Lights

If you thought the LA Zoo was just a place to see lots of animals, you’ll definitely be proven wrong if you head over there now. Festival of Lights

At Mission Inn, you’ll get to bask in the bright glow of 4.5 million lights during their 26th annual Festival of Lights. Admission is absolutely free, and it’ll be running for six weeks. There’s lots to look forward to here, including fresh snow, horse-drawn carriage rides and hundreds of animated figures. The event was even recently named the “Best Public Lights Display in the Nation” by USA Today, so it’s definitely worth checking out.

Moonlight Forest

There’s Christmas lights, and then there’s massive lanterns, sparkly flowers, and beautifully lighted dragons in L.A. County Arboretum’s Moonlight Forest. This will be the first-ever nighttime timed-ticket event in the botanical garden, and it promises to be simply magnificent. You can look forward to parade-float-sized structures, grand Chinese lanterns and other amazing creations from China’s Sichuan province.
