Exciting Adventures at Exposition Park

 

The more the sun shines the more we are encouraged to enjoy the beauty around us. Los Angeles has some very unique sites that can’t be found anywhere else. One of these unique locations is Exposition Park. Formerly the site of the city’s agricultural fairground, it has been transformed to a 160-acre place to go for the arts and culture. It is home to The California Science Center, Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, and Natural History Museum. On-site there is an IMAX theatre, Expo Center and Sports Arena as well. If nature is your calling and you want to see the architectural wonders flowers have to offer there is also a 7.5 acre rose garden that is home to around 16,000 rose bushes, and was originally created for the 1932 LA Olympics.

There is something for everyone at Exposition Park. If you find your feet heading in that direction take note of some upcoming events you don’t want to miss:

  • World Health Day LA on Sat, April 7, 2012  9:00am - 1:00pm at the EXPO Center Soboroff Sports Field  FREE!

  • The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books will be held from Sat., April 21st- 22nd at the University of Southern California Campus. FREE! http://events.latimes.com/festivalofbooks/general-information/

  • The March of Dimes Walk for Babies 2012 will be held on Saturday, April 28th from 5:00am-5:00pm at Christmas Tree Lane http://www.marchofdimes.com

  • Monday’s are Home School Day’s from 9:30am-3:30pm. The Wallis Annenberg Building is the host facility and home school student attendees explore different science concepts and age-appropriate activities held in the Big Lab and surrounding classrooms. www.californiasciencecenter.org
