Mother's Day Festival on Olvera Street

The Mother's Day Festival at El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historic Site is being combined with Cinco de Mayo festivities this year. It will include live music, festive food, carnival rides and games, free health screenings for women and free gifts for Moms. Of course this will be added to the already bustling Mexican craft market and popular Mexican restaurants at Olvera Street.

When: May 8, 2011 10 am - 9 pm

Mother's Day Brunch at the Disney Concert Hall

Mother's will be feted by Patina Catering in the Blue Ribbon Garden at the gleaming Disney Concert Hall in Downtown Los Angeles. Macadamia nut French toast, cornmeal flapjacks, Atlantic salmon paillard, roasted lemon chicken, and several variations on eggs will be complimented by a plethora of salads, breakfast pastries and desserts. Mom receives a complimentary glass of Champagne.

When: May 9, 2010, 10:00 am and 12:00 pm seatings

Mother's Day Opera in Belmont Shore

Professional opera singers Angie Solomon and Caig Colclough, international concert pianist Steven Vanhauwaert, and harpist Jane Grothe,  will perform a free concert at Bayshore Church in Belmont Shore, Long Beach.

When: May 8, 2011 at 3-5 pm

 Mother's Day Brunch Cruise

Hornblower Cruises is offering Mother's Day Brunch and Dinner Cruises departing from Long Beach, Newport Beach and Marina del Rey.

When: Sunday, May 8, 2011. Brunch Cruises depart at 10 am and 2 pm. Dinner cruises depart at 7 pm, with boarding half hour before departure times.

Mother's Day Mad Hatter Tea Party at the Bowers Museum

Mom and the kids (Dad too) are invited to tea and cookies at the Mad Hatter Tea Party at the Bowers Kidseum in Santa Ana. Wear your own hat or borrow one from the Kidseum's clothes collection. Activities include hat-making and readings from Alice in Wonderland.
