Led by brilliant Musical Director Alan Gilbert, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Dvorák’s “Carnival Overture,” Lindberg’s “Piano Concerto No. 2,” in a West Coast premiere and Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 4.” Gilbert, who studied at Harvard, the Curtis Institute of Music and the Julliard School, is also Director of Conducting and Orchestral Studies at Julliard. His Japanese mother, Yoko Takebe joins him as a longstanding member of the New York violin section, while his father, Michael Gilbert is a retired violinist, who also performed with the New York Philharmonic.

Grammy Awarding winning pianist Yefim Bronfman joins Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic on a West Coast tour that also includes performances in Sacramento and San Francisco. Bronfman is considered to be among the most talented piano virtuosos performing in the world today. Among his other appearances scheduled this year are with the Cleveland Orchestra in New York City and the London Symphony Orchestra in London.

Designed by Frank Gehry, the Canadian-American architect whose other notable building designs include the famed Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao Spain, the Walt Disney Concert Hall was created in part by a $50 million donation by Lillian Disney, the widow of Walt Disney. It is located a half mile from the Los Angeles City Hall and 1.5 miles from the LA Live/Staples Center complex.

Whether you’re staying in the downtown Los Angeles area or flying into one of the two major airports nearby, Exclusive Sedan can transport you from your point of origin to the Concert Hall to hear and see some of the best classical musicians in the world.
