No World Peace in Los Angeles...At Least for the Playoffs.

The Lakers enter the NBA playoffs as the #3 seed and will meet the Denver Nuggets. By virtue of their ranking, they will play at least two home games at the Staples Center at LA Live. If you need limo transportation in Los Angeles, let Exclusive Sedan take you to one of the most entertaining venues in the country to see an event.

Led by one of the greatest players to ever play the game, Kobe Bryant and the Lakers are coming off yet another serious incident regarding player behavior when their starting forward Metta World Peace violently elbowed Oklahoma City’s James Harden in the head on April 22nd, causing a concussion. As a result of his latest incident, the former Defensive Player of the Year has been suspended for the first six games of the 2012 NBA playoffs.

World Peace, who was formerly known as Ron Artest has had a long history of violence in the NBA, including an unprecedented 86 game suspension for his involvement in an all out brawl at Auburn Hills, Michigan in 2004, in which he went into the stands and fought with fans. He eventually made his way back to the court where he punched a fan in the face. Artest who changed his name to Metta World Pace to demonstrate he has changed his ways on and off the court, has been suspended 12 times during his 14 year career.

Faced with yet another distraction, many fans will be watching the Lakers closely as they embark on their quest to win their 17th NBA championship and first since 2010. Fans will likely remember the Lakers taking cheap shots to a couple of Dallas Mavericks players, as the team from LA were beaten 4 games to zero last year in the playoffs. Two Lakers: Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom both received suspensions at the start of this year for their violent behavior in that embarrassing final loss in 2011. To make matters worse, World Peace, who probably needs to legally change his name back to Ron Artest, was suspended for one game during that series for his flagrant foul in game 2.

Still the Lakers remain a perennial championship contender though whispers abound whether the aging team will be knocked out again in the early rounds like last year. However they fare in the first round is up for speculation but this much is known: the Lakers are one of the most popular and the most valuable NBA franchise in the league with millions of fans rooting for them. With regular celebrities expected to attend the playoff games at the Staples Center, including Jack Nicholson, Leonard DiCaprio, Denzel Washington and Dyan Cannon, you can be certain that the games will also gain high television ratings due to team’s world-wide popularity.

The home games at the Staples Center are expected to be sellouts so if you are one of the lucky ones with tickets, you can count on one of the best limo services in Los Angeles to get you there, Exclusive Sedan. However it’s not likely you’ll see Metta World Peace in the playoffs anytime soon.
