The year-end is fast approaching, and with-it new plans, changes, and dreams are coming. However, let’s not forget that we’re still in 2018 (reality check!), and we’ve yet to celebrate NYE. It’s definitely a global event, and it only gets bigger every year. When it comes to celebrating in LA, you’ll obviously be spoilt for choices: from dance parties and elegant dinners to community events and chill hangouts, so it’s really how you want to spend your NYE that truly matters. We’ve got our suggestions for you just down below, so take a look to see what you’ll prefer:
This communal event is great for all ages, and includes live music (e.g. Aloe Blacc, Georgia Ann Muldrow, etc.), DJs, tons of food trucks and photo-worthy installations. Of course, the crowning glory of the day will happen just before midnight, and this time, it’ll be in the form of a 3D digital projection countdown. Just remember that this is a family-friendly event, so no alcohol is allowed. However, you can bring your own food in a backpack or tote bag.
Venue: Grand Park + The Music Center, 200 North Grand Avenue, LA, CA 90012
Time & Date: 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. (31 Dec, 2018)
Disneyland New Year’s Eve
It might already be your yearly go-to staple, but if you’re thinking to enjoy more than just the usual rides and attractions, come on over this NYE. Enjoy a night-time parade, live performances and plenty more with friends and family. There will also be fireworks here for you to enjoy, and if you’re thinking to get home earlier, it’ll be best for you to opt for the 9 p.m. fireworks instead. The park is going to be more crowded, but if you think it’s worth the crush, go for it.

Atrium Anti-New Year’s
Yes, there really is such a thing as an anti-NYE celebration, but it doesn’t signify something bad. Instead of joining in the crowd or making a big deal (and a lot of noise) out of entering 2019, you can choose to have a more toned-down time with a regular meal. Sure, it’s time to embrace the new year, but not everyone wants to start wearing party hats and shout their lungs out.
Venue: 1816 N Vermont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90027
Time & Date: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. (31 Dec, 2018)
